Lonesome Doves are an American indie-rock duo living musically adjacent to Austin, TX.
Their first release, The Wedding Album, was limited to under 100 copies and was distributed to guests at their 2011 wedding. They began playing with Sean's 8 track TASCAM in 2010 during their courtship. Weekly trips to open mic nights in Denton and Dallas were made to debut the songs they were creating at home.
In 2014, they released their official debut album, Handmade. They recorded the songs on the 8 track TASCAM in their garage and closet at home. Releasing Handmade led to their first regional tour across Texas, New Mexico, & Colorado. They spent considerable time in Santa Fe as resident buskers.
In 2016, the band disabled their social media accounts. Revolutionary creativity has followed.
In the summer of 2018, they spent a week at Frogville Studios in Santa Fe to record their third full-length album, The Dream while Scarlett was 7 months pregnant with their second child. The Dream was released on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Although they have performed hundreds of shows as a band, Lonesome Doves performed only one show in all of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They performed their songs from The Dream on the patio stage at the Granada Theater in May of 2020.
On May 20, 2021, they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by releasing a cover of John Lennon's song, Love.
On Monday August 30th 2021, Lonesome Doves had the honor to perform in a showcase put on by Frogville Records at the bandstand on the historic Santa Fe Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Doves recently welcomed a new baby at the end of 2021. They continue to live their life offline, creating music while also keeping up with a five membered flock.
Lonesome Doves are very grateful to be sober & vegan. Be gentle with yourself out there. Music helps.... So turn it up!
We love you!
