Lonesome Doves wanted to see if they could create an album in a day. What ensued was manic, cathartic, and beautiful. 10 new songs were written. 4 recorded the same day. Scarlett lost her voice for two days. Sean worked hard to mix and they agreed to release a small EP from the fruits of their labor. The Lonesome Doves Christmas Album was born.
Lonesome winters can be tough. That's why Lonesome Doves made a Christmas album. To celebrate the "creeping" feelings that so often come to haunt us this time of the year. Caught in nostalgia's grasp for meaning, but clearly seeing that conspicuous consumption has them in a chokehold is where Lonesome Doves lay their scene. As the season of giving has transformed nearly all human interaction into transactional love, few lone voices rise to question it, and to question it in song form!
This expediently made EP of songs hopes to lend tenderness to your human heart and give comfort to all seeking inner peace. (Plus, we had fun making it!)
